The Printing Museum welcomes the assistance of individuals and groups who are interested in helping the Museum advance its mission. Currently, we have the following unpaid volunteer positions available:
Docents: Do you have a passion for books, design, history, or journalism? Share your passions with the public by training to be a TPM Docent. Docents lead tour groups of all ages through the permanent collection galleries and demonstrate/supervise printing activities in our interactive exhibits.
Gallery Attendant: Gallery attendants greet visitors in the galleries and are helpful with information. No prior knowledge of printing or history required.
Studio Volunteers: Are you handy, like to tinker, or build things? Or do you know how to classify and organize typefaces? The Printing Museum needs help to restore vintage printing presses and equipment, build storage, and identify and organize metal and wood type.
Event Volunteers: volunteers assist with planning, preparation, event setup, visitor information, and other tasks. Being an event volunteer provides the perfect opportunity to become involved with the Museum for people who may work full-time and for groups of students or adults.
Board Service: The museum is always looking for people passionate about our mission and willing to roll up their sleeves. Terms are three years and entail meeting bi-monthly and serving on a committee.
Internships: The Printing Museum offers internships to undergraduate and/or graduate students during the spring, summer, and fall semesters. For more, please see: https://printingmuseum.org/jobs-internships/
