Have you wanted to learn to draw? Or maybe you’re looking to brush up on your drawing skills. Join instructor Melissa Aytenfisu for a 4-class series in a casual, but supportive environment, where you’ll develop foundational drawing skills that translate across art mediums. Each class can stand alone or be taken as a progressive series that builds on the previous class skills. Each session will start with a 30 minute lesson, followed by open drawing for approximately an hour, and closing with sharing of work and feedback. No experience necessary!
- Session 1: Creating Realistic Volume
- Session 2: One-Point Perspective
- Session 3: Drapery and Patterns on Fabric
- Session 4: Figure Drawing
Bring your own preferred drawing materials. Recommended tools include, but not limited to: 9 x 12 sketchpad; charcoal or graphite in a variety of hardness; blender tool; gum eraser. Drawing will be done seated at tables, but you are welcome to bring a small travel easel if preferred.

David Foster Wallace said, “Many of the most important impressions and thoughts in a person’s life are ones that flash through your head so fast that fast isn’t even the right word.” In this storytelling and poetry workshop, we’ll explore the relationship between language and thoughts, words and memory, and transfer our impressions from the mind to the typewritten page. Join instructor Nick Almeida for laidback and approachable writing workshops, open to the seasoned writer, the part-time dreamer, and everyone in between. Typewriters, paper, and writing implements provided. (Although if you have your own typewriter, feel free to bring in!)
