Description
- During your standard guided tour, you will learn of early forms of printing, participate in the hands-on printing of a leaf of the Gutenberg Bible pulled from a replica press, print a copy of the Declaration of Independence on a 19th-century Columbian iron handpress, discover the importance of the Linotype machine, and witness advances in printing and self-publishing that came about in the 20th century. Your tour concludes with a visit to our craft studios, and temporary exhibitions (if offered at that time).
Group Tours are booked by appointment and require a minimum of 10 people. If you are booking a tour for less than 10 people consider joining our guided tours on Fridays at 12pm and 2pm during normal museum hours. If you are booking for more than 20 people, you must book multiple tours.
