TPM Spring 2022 Artists-In-Residence Artists Talk

June 9 @ 7:00 pm 8:00 pm

On Thursday June 9th at 7pm (CT) join The Printing Museum’s Spring 2022 Artists-in-Residence in conversation, Cynthia Giron and Nicolle LaMere. They’ll share the unique bodies of work they’ve completed during their residency, discuss their process, and share what it was like joining the creative community at the museum. There will also be time at the end for any Q&A.

  • Cynthia Giron (MFA – Painting, University of North Texas) is a first-generation American whose painting practice explores early and recent memories of living in-between two cultures. Giron plans to create an artist book/games, drawings, and a paper installation that examines the importance of memories and how childhood moments are intrinsically linked with play.
  • Nicolle LaMere (MFA – Ceramics, Texas Tech University) is on a journey to know the cosmos, working with ceramics and elemental materials to create sculptural objects and transmedia installations. LaMere plans to explore the theme of light and serenity through voluminous cast paper forms and effervescent prints, in hopes of generating uplifting moments of healing.

The event is FREE and open to all, and will be held virtually over Zoom.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

We are planning to make a recording of the program available, so you will be able to watch the entire program at your convenience even if you can’t join us live, although we do hope you will!

The live event has now passed, but the recording may be viewed at https://youtu.be/8-2eKwTByFM
