This class is for beginners and experienced printers alike. This 3 day intensive course focuses on the “reduction” technique of linoleum block printing. This is an efficient method for creating editions of multi-layered, color prints from a single block, rather than carving a separate block for each layer of color in your design. The class will begin with a look at some historical contemporary examples of reduction linocut, followed by a technical demonstration. We will then work together for the remainder of each session, with the goal of each student finishing a small edition of at least 5 prints with at least three layers of color.
