November 18, 2015 @ 4:00 am - 5:30 am

Be a Printer for a Day! Join a Public Printing Tour.

Join TPM Artist-in-Residence Charles Criner on a hands-on tour of printing history. During your guided tour, you will learn of early forms of printing, participate in the hands-on printing of a leaf of the Gutenberg Bible pulled from a replica press, print a copy of the Declaration of Independence on a 19th-century Columbian iron handpress, discover the importance of the Linotype machine, and witness advances in printing and self-publishing that came about in the 20th century. Your tour concludes with a visit to our craft studios, temporary exhibitions and an optional 45-minute film, Harvest of Wisdom.
