Have a blast while building letterpress basics and learn why contemporary printmakers and book artists continue to work with these tools and techniques. Through a hands-on printing project, students will gain a foundational understanding of the principles of letterpress printing. Using a curated selection from the movable type collection, sign presses, and hand-operated Vandercook presses, students will come away with an edition of a small poster or similar side project and the satisfaction of pulling beautiful prints!
This class takes place over two sessions and is open to all levels and is a prerequisite for continuing skill progression in letterpress level 2 and 3 classes. Successful completion of Levels 1, 2, and 3 certifies a student to use letterpress equipment during Open Studio.
Adults 18+. All materials supplied.
