March 12 @ 10:00 am – March 13 @ 1:00 pm
DATES
(This workshop will be held in two parts):

Sun March 13: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

This workshop builds on the basic linoleum block printing technique. Normally, an artist could create a multi-color image by layering multiple blocks, or by using the reduction method. The Jigsaw method involves separating shapes of color within the design by actually cutting up the main linoleum block, inking each piece separately, and then reassembling the design like a puzzle on the press. This technique can then be combined with multi-block or reduction method for multiple layers and an increased range of colors. Ages: 16+.
Pre-requisite: This class builds on prior knowledge of the linocut printing process and previous experience is recommended.
Materials: Participants are to bring their own carving tools. Suggested tools include FlexCut Palm Tools, Power Grip, or similar. You may wish to bring your own apron and reusable gloves.
Inks, paper, and linoleum blocks will be provided by the Printing Museum and are included in the cost of the workshop.
