This one-day workshop will introduce you to the basics of making books, covering fundamentals such as paper grain, folding, and stitching. Participants will gain understanding of both techniques and materials by working with paper, thread, and adhesives. We will be making a variety of structures, including a one-page folded book, a single-section pamphlet stitch, an accordion, and a Japanese stab binding. You will be able to leave with several binding styles under your belt, and the knowledge of how to adapt these structures to make your own notebooks, journals, or sketchbooks. No previous experience necessary. Level: All levels welcome, ages 13 and over.
