Fundamentals of Letterpress I

January 30, 2016 @ 4:00 am - 7:00 am

This class is the first step toward joining our Printers’ Guild and completing personal projects in our letterpress studio. Join accomplished printer Steve Sylvester as he discusses the use and history of type, and proper means of handling materials and tools in the studio. Special attention will be given to terms and special features of our studio. This class is prerequisite for Fundamentals of Letterpress II, and is geared toward students completely new to printing. If you have experience in a letterpress studio and are interested in joining the Guild and using the studio without the Fundamentals course, please sign up for Letterpress Studio Practices.

Please note that Museum Members receive 10% off the price of tuition. Advanced registration is required. Please call (713) 522-4652 to register.
