“Empowher: Celebrating Women’s Right to Vote” virtual exhibit highlights the vital importance of women’s right to vote in the US and the importance of graphic design as social engagement. Each of the twenty-four posters was designed by a senior graphic design student in the Graphic Design Program within the University of Houston’s Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts, School of Art. Equal parts assignment and activism, the posters allowed student designers to participate in AIGA National’s Get Out the Vote: Empowering the Women’s Vote campaign as well as the larger national discourse on women’s rights and voting.
