Digital Letterpress

March 24, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Learn the fundamentals of letterpress printing with photopolymer plates. During the first class meeting students will learn the basics of designing (via Adobe Photoshop) for letterpress and creating digital files for platemaking. Detailed instructions on ordering plates will be provided so students may order their own plates for printing. On the second class day, students will print their own designs using tabletop platen presses from the Museum’s collection. Skills covered include: designing for letterpress, proper registration, inking the press, and impression. (For this class, the materials fee only covers ink and paper costs. Students will be responsible for ordering and paying for their own plates).

Tuition: $90 plus $20 materials fee
