Specimen Box Making

May 7, 2016 @ 7:00 am - 11:00 am

Need a box to hold your freshly printed postcards, stationary, book, or other specialty item? Boxmaking requires many of the same techniques as bookbinding to measure, construct, and cover, but is modified to create open structures. Come learn how to make a custom, partitioned, cloth-covered, hinged box.

Bring 4 or 5 small items that are significant to you. We will measure the items and make partitions in the box to store them. Constructing a box is a fascinating process and the skills you will learn in this class will easily carry over to making all kinds of boxes.

Cost:  $80 (includes materials)

Dates: Saturday, May 7th 2016; 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Please note that Museum Members receive 10% off the price of tuition. Advanced registration is required. Please call (713) 522-4652 to register.
