Hardcover Accordion Book Class

April 9, 2016 @ 7:00 am - 11:00 am

In this workshop you’ll learn how to construct a hardcover accordion-style book based on Hedi Kyle’s non-adhesive cover design. Students will be guided through the unique process of preparing an accordion text block as well as assembling fully covered boards without the help of adhesive! This unique structure includes a removable spine piece which allows the book to be experienced in two ways–a single elongated view or read like a traditional codex. This class introduces basic book binding concepts including measuring, scoring and tipping folios.

Cost:  $70 (includes materials)

Dates: Saturday, April 9th 2016; 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Please note that Museum Members receive 10% off the price of tuition. Advanced registration is required. Please call (713) 522-4652 to register.
