Beginning January 2019 on every third Thursday of the month, The Printing Museum will have special free events for members. Join us for exclusive and in-depth looks into the world of printing! (Non-members can join each event with an admission fee.) All events, unless posted otherwise, will take place at The Printing Museum and will start at 6PM. Collection InSight: Renaissance Master Prints from the Bader Collection
January 31
Explore the museum’s Bader Collection and study how artists used new printing techniques to change the world of art. Come check out the works by masters like Cranach, Durer, and Piranesi.
Yates Museum Field Trip and Tour

Celebrating Black History Month, we will take a guided tour of the Yates Museum (1314 Andrews) –dedicated to the life and achievements of Rutherford B. H. Yates – and the history of African American contribution to printing.
Book Club: “Just My Type”
March 21
Joins us for an evening of discussion of the book Just My Type (Simon Garfield, 2012) and the history of font design, followed by an engaging look into the museum’s rich collection of woodtype and metal type.

Follow a group of young artists rediscovering the magic of printing with the movie Los Ultimos (Endless Letterpress, Spanish, subtitled), followed by an in-depth look at the museum’s collection of early Texas, Spanish-language collection.
Attendees can also enjoy the special exhibition featuring the works of celebrated Mexican cartoonist Jose Trinidad “Trino” Camacho.

Celebrating the national Typewriter Day (June 23), come take an exclusive look at the museum’s typewriter collections.

Meet Benjamin Franklin, a Founding Father and proud printer. Remember our history in this month of Independence Day and enjoy a guided tour of Franklin’s newspapers, almanacs, and paper money. Members can also print his words of wisdom on the museum’s own press!
